The elevation walkways and driving lanes along Osage St. in the Nebraska neighborhood are now much safer thanks to new LED lights.

Without the new lights, the elevations were very dark, even during the daytime, so the City’s Community Development Division worked with Public Works to install 40 new light fixtures equipped with new LED lights. The LED lights provide better visibility and are much more cost-efficient than the 16 old high pressure sodium fixtures. Additionally, the new lights are custom-made so they can endure bad weather conditions and vandalism. The lights were installed by Kissinger Electric for a cost of $40,659 in Community Economic Development Income Tax dollars.
