SoundWalk + Fort Wayne Sculpture Trail
This project consists of the development of a free mobile application that guides participants along a dynamic walking trail of sculptures in downtown Fort Wayne with music and information that scores the listener's experience. The music will be uniquely composed to connect the path from each sculpture on the map. The listener can also choose to listen to information about each piece. The project is being developed by Kurt Roembke and scheduled for completion by April 2024. More information on the SoundWalk mobile application can be found at soundwalkapp.com.

SHOUT-OUT: Fort Wayne!
Presented as a pilot program by the Fort Wayne Public Art Commission, SHOUT-OUT: Fort Wayne! will empower neighborhoods to develop and activate their unique identities through public art. The program creates opportunities for inclusion, engagement, education, and dialogue between neighborhood residents through a deeply participatory program. Neighborhood association leaders and residents will be invited to express their identity and story with public art, first through temporary installations produced by residents with guidance from the Project Manager and selected artists; and second with a permanent piece commissioned by the neighborhood and Public Art Commission. The temporary and permanent installations represent two distinct phases of the SHOUT-OUT: Fort Wayne! program.

A SHOUT-OUT: Fort Wayne! steering committee was appointed by the Public Art Commission in February, 2023. A Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Project Manager was issued on July 26, 2023.

Northeast Quadrant Public Art Initiative
The Fort Wayne Public Art Commission has been granted $50,000 from the Northeast Quadrant Investing in Neighborhoods Now Committee to install public art in the Northeast Quadrant of Fort Wayne.

A Selection Committee was appointed by the Public Art Commission to oversee the project in September 2021. After issuing and evaluating responses from a survey of northeast quadrant residents in early 2022, the Committee recommended that funds be dedicated to the development of a public art sculpture in Lakeside and Shoaff Parks.

A Request for Proposals was sent to local and regional artists in late June 2022.   The artist’s proposal recommended by the Selection Committee and approved by the Public Art Commission and the Fort Wayne Board of Park Commissioners for the project is by Jim Merz.  Learn more about the artist HERE.

The sculptures will be installed in late summer 2023.
