Johnnie Mae Farm Hosts HARVEST CELEBRATION Friday, October 25

The Johnnie Mae Farm, located at 2518 Winter St., is hosting the second annual Harvest Celebration on Friday, October 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The remaining vegetables will be harvested and offered free of charge to residents on a first come first serve basis. Collard and mustard greens, potatoes, radishes, carrots, beets, tomatoes, and peppers should be available. After October 25, farmers will prepare the planting beds for winter.

Residents Invited to Share Their Ideas for Southeast Fort Wayne

The City of Fort Wayne Planning Department and Southeast Area Partnership are inviting area residents to share their ideas for the future of southeast Fort Wayne.

The City and leaders from the Southeast Area Partnership have been working to update the community’s Southeast Strategy and are now ready to hear from residents during several events scheduled for the week of October 21.

FuseNEI.com Launched to Support Entrepreneurs

A group of Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) are making it easier for businesses to start and grow in Northeast Indiana.

FuseNEI.com is a new website intended to illuminate the vast network of resources available to founders. “Many ESO providers can refer people to a good number of resources, but it is difficult for any of us to name them all,” shared Trois Hart, Director of SEED Fort Wayne. She added, “Imagine how difficult it is for someone not familiar with the network to find the resources they need.” SEED is an ESO and convened other like organizations to launch the website.

Housing & Neighborhood Services Annual Report Available for Review

The annual report detailing how the City of Fort Wayne invested U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) dollars in 2018 is now available for public review.

Comments regarding the report, called the Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER), will be accepted at a public meeting tomorrow, September 17 and in writing through September 24, 2019.
