City’s Lead Program offers remediation assistance to families

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne’s Office of Housing & Neighborhood Services is now offering a Lead Paint Remediation Program to help protect families from lead poisoning.

The program provides qualified homeowners, rental property owners and tenants with assistance including; a lead-based paint risk assessment/paint inspection, lead-based paint hazard remediation, and temporary relocation if necessary.

City to host Neighborhood Improvement Grant workshop

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Neighborhood Association Officers are encouraged to attend a virtual workshop that will answer questions about the application process for the City of Fort Wayne’s Neighborhood Improvement Grant program.

The program is designed to support neighborhood projects that beautify public spaces and strengthen community involvement. Accepted projects must enhance the aesthetics of the neighborhood, provide a clear community benefit, be accessible to all residents and increase civic pride.

Jonathan Leist named Deputy Director of Redevelopment for City of Fort Wayne's Community Development Division

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne's Community Development Division today announced Jonathan Leist as its new Deputy Director of Redevelopment. He will begin his duties on February 2nd.

Leist brings more than 17 years of professional experience to the new position. He served as the Solid Waste District Director of Huntington County, Indiana from 2003 to 2015 and the Town Manager of Culver, Indiana from 2015 to 2021.

Heating & Air Conditioning/Roof Program Now Open

The Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services Heating, Air Conditioning and Roof Program is now open to qualified residents.

The program offers zero percent interest ten-year loans for heating/air conditioning replacement or roof replacement projects. Applicants must own their home, it must be their primary residence and the home must be located within City limits. Applicants must also have a household income at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income, or $55,050 for a family of four.

Public Invited to Art For All Master Plan Celebration

The City of Fort Wayne Public Art Commission is inviting all residents to the reveal of the completed public art master plan, called Art for All.

The celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Arts United Center in the Ian Rolland Gallery, 303 E. Main St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and a brief presentation begins at 6 p.m. Cupcakes will be served and live music will be featured.
