City Seeks Community Engagement on Historic Northeast Neighborhood Plan

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne’s Neighborhood Planning and Activation Workgroup, in coordination with the Forest Park, North Anthony, and Northside neighborhoods, is seeking input from area residents on priorities for the upcoming Historic Northeast Neighborhood Plan. Several open-house style events will be held throughout the neighborhoods starting on Thursday, with an opportunity to review potential strategies and focus areas and provide feedback to finalize the plan.

City’s commitment to neighborhoods continues with launch of new plan for several Northwest neighborhoods

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne’s Neighborhood Planning and Activation Workgroup, in coordination with the Bloomingdale, Five Points, Hamilton, Lincoln Park, Nebraska, and North Highlands neighborhoods, is seeking input from residents, business owners, and organizations as part of a new neighborhood plan for Fort Wayne’s Northwest area. With community input, the new plan will help establish a vision and make recommendations that help guide future growth, redevelopment, safety enhancements, and preservation efforts.

Mayor Henry Leads Riverfront Phase IIb Groundbreaking Celebration

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Progress along Fort Wayne’s riverfront continues as Mayor Tom Henry today joined the City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division, Parks and Recreation Department, and community leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on Riverfront Phase IIb Public Open Space.

“Riverfront development is a key economic driver and unique quality of life amenity that is positioning Fort Wayne as a regional and national leader in providing an excellent and successful live, work and play model,” said Mayor Henry. “As a point of destination community, we’re moving together in the right direction as our best days are ahead of us. This next phase of work along our riverfront will have a lasting and meaningful impact.”

Neighborhood Presidents Meeting

 Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division will host their next Neighborhood Presidents Meeting on Monday, September 18, at 6 p.m. at Citizens Square in the City Council Chambers on the Garden Level. The meeting will also be streamed live on the Fort Wayne Neighborhoods’ Facebook page.

The Landing Streetscape Wins INASLA 2023 Merit Award

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (INASLA) has awarded MKSK Studios and the City of Fort Wayne the Merit Award for exceptional work on the restoration of the Columbia Street Streetscape also known as The Landing. The project was selected in the category of Design – Constructed Works on a project with a construction budget of less than $2 million

City’s Heating & Air Conditioning Program (HVAC) set to open August 15

Fort Wayne, Ind. –The Office of Housing & Neighborhood Services will begin accepting applications for the City of Fort Wayne’s Heating & Air Conditioning Program on Tuesday, Aug. 15. This program offers qualified residents a zero percent interest loan for the replacement and installation of new heating and air conditioning systems for their homes. The loans will be secured by a mortgage and repayment will be required through monthly installments over a 10-year period.

Registration Now Open for the 2023 Inspire Neighborhood Conference

 Fort Wayne, Ind. – Registration is now open for the free 2023 Inspire Neighborhood Conference. The event aims to energize and equip Fort Wayne’s neighborhood residents and leaders. The conference is hosted by the City of Fort Wayne’s Neighborhood Planning and Activation Workgroup and is set for September 14from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Electric Works, 1690 Broadway.
